Jacketed Mixing Tank — Liquid and Semi-Liquid Temperature-Controlled Processing
A jacketed mixing tank is a double-walled vessel where the inner vessel holds liquid product, and the outer jacket carries a heating or cooling medium.
Combined with an internal agitator appropriate for the liquid viscosity and mixing requirement, jacketed mixing tanks are used wherever liquids, semi-liquids, or pastes must be processed at controlled temperatures.
Available Agitator Types
- Anchor agitator — slow-moving, follows vessel contour, best for high-viscosity liquids and pastes
- Paddle agitator — moderate mixing, suitable for medium-viscosity liquids
- Propeller agitator — high-speed, low-viscosity liquids, maximum flow and heat transfer
- Turbine agitator — high shear, emulsification, dispersion of immiscible liquids
- Helical ribbon agitator — gentle, thorough mixing of medium to high viscosity materials
Key Applications
- Chocolate melting, tempering, and blending tank
- Jam, jelly, and sauce cooking vessel
- Pharmaceutical API dissolution vessel and syrup preparation tank
- Ointment and cream base preparation — melting waxes and oils
- Cosmetic emulsion preparation — cream, lotion, serum manufacturing
- Chemical reaction vessel with agitation and temperature control
- Dairy processing vessel — pasteurization and cooling
