What Are Product-Contact Parts?
Product-contact parts are all surfaces inside the mixer that directly touch the material being mixed. On a horizontal ribbon mixer this means the ribbon agitator assembly, the interior walls and bottom of the U-shaped mixing trough, the central drive shaft, and the discharge valve. These are the surfaces that matter most for material purity, contamination prevention, and regulatory compliance — which is why QUICK PROPACK specifies SS316 stainless steel for all product-contact parts as standard on every in-stock unit.
