Conical Screw Mixer
A conical screw mixer uses a conical vessel with a single helical screw agitator that simultaneously rotates on its own axis and orbits the inner wall of the conical vessel in a slow, steady motion.
The rotating screw lifts material from the base of the cone upward along the vessel wall, while the orbital motion ensures the entire batch is continuously engaged with no dead zones.
Material lifted by the screw falls back through the center of the vessel — creating a very gentle, low-shear circulating mixing pattern that treats every particle with exceptional care.
The conical screw mixer produces the lowest shear of any mixer type — making it the only appropriate choice for extremely fragile materials, very high-value active ingredients, and applications where particle integrity must be completely preserved.
The conical geometry ensures near-complete discharge with residual material typically less than 0.01% of batch weight.
